Symbiocentric AI - Mirrors of Embodied Knowledge
Human intelligence became the reference point against which all other forms were measured, positioning human perception as the primary standard and implicitly placing humans above other forms of life.
Today, artificial intelligence systems are built on these foundations, allowing human-centred ideas of intelligence to operate at scale — no longer as theory, but as infrastructure.
But what if intelligence were never ours to claim?
SYMBIOCENTRIC AI (WT) is a sensory environmental installation that invites visitors to experience intelligence as something that emerges through relationships — between bodies, living environments, and the systems we create.
Set along a path of interactive sculptures in parks, forests, or botanical gardens, the installation responds to both human presence and environmental conditions. Breath, movement, wind, temperature, and climate data subtly influence evolving visuals and soundscapes. Visitors encounter familiar forms of interaction — movement, proximity, reflection — within a world that behaves differently than expected.
Rather than offering direct feedback or control, the installation presents subtle perceptual challenges that gently disrupt habitual ways of sensing and interpreting. As visitors slow down, become more attentive, and engage through different senses, the system responds differently. Environmental conditions, temporal processes, and artificial memory operate alongside human actions, shaping patterns that unfold over time. The experience gradually shifts from exploration to attunement.
In doing so, the project asks a simple but fundamental question:
What becomes possible when intelligence is sensed not as cognition, but as something that resonates, relates, and co-evolves between us?
